Tranquility

I didn’t stay in Times Square for long, I turned south and headed back downtown. One thing that struck me is how much greenery there is in Manhattan, all in little pockets. The first oasis I found myself in was Bryant Park, the building you can see through the trees is the New York Public Library.

Tranquil

I continued south towards one touristy building that I was making an exception for by searching out. The Flat Iron Building has been on my “must-see” list for so very long that I just had to spend some time just staring at it.

These really do give a glimpse of that lovely feeling of being in the middle of the city, but in a tiny green oasis :)

How on earth did you manage to get that Flat Iron so..flat! You’d swear you’d used a tilt-shift. Excellent.

Wow, I love that man sign/statue on the far right. Kind of freaky, but amazing. Really great shot!

Oh thanks for bringing back so many nice memories.
Now I want to go back again.
That 1st Flat Iron shot is spectacular.

Hi Claire,
Been ages since I was on your blog & just caught up on my feeds recently.
Enjoying your shots of the Big Apple (and now you make me want to go!) really nice, love the kids dancing & the Flat Iron best.
I think I’d just stand for ages gazing at the Flat Iron, it’s so iconic.

Looks like you had a great time.
